Our 2020 Concept: Identity and the Meaning of Home

The best place to start is with the STORY. We all imagine different stories when asked about Identity and the Meaning of Home. Start with a narrative that means something personal to you; Might it be a home or a world you desire to have now, a home from a past memory, a home or identity from your imagination as it relates to the future. Your project can be real or not, but it is important that it conveys a feeling or construct.

  • Develop your concept using Adobe Aero

When you develop your proposal, go deeper: Is there a person, place or thing that emerges? How does it feel? What does it look like? What details are present? Who are the actors in your narrative?

Consider the entire scene where you will set your experience in the real world: the space used along with the added details, will serve as the backdrop and help to provide context to your Aero creation, available on iOS for free.

  • Apply for the grant and share you concept

Submit your written concept narrative and any proof of concept made with Aero (videos, photos, links to the experience) by April 30th, 2020.

The more details you can add in describing your project, the more likely we will get excited about it. For example, you can  include a list of any other environment elements, sounds or props involved in your final exhibition. We are looking for a diverse set of pieces, so authenticity and voice are key.

If selected, we can support your project with a grant ranging from $2,000-4,000.00 US dollars.  10-20 projects will be selected. You will also benefit from the promotion around the festival. We will  then work with you to create inspiring film and content to create the virtual festival. .
